My thoughts on the Royal Wedding...

Hello Everyone,

Today, I was doing some updates and added two new upcoming Made-for-TV Movies - one for the Hallmark Channel and Lifetime, regarding the upcoming wedding of England's Royalty ~ Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Perhaps you are or are not Royal Followers. I am somewhere in between, I suppose. I think it's an interesting part of England's History, but I'm not a Royal Watcher. I do wish them well, and I hope they have a lovely wedding and happy married life together.

I just recently discovered that years ago when my Sister and I were in a wedding, the bride chose our flower girl dresses to match those of Princess Diana's attendants. (She had them custom-made.) I had no idea at the time - as I was young girl. I do remember watching the wedding on TV, of course, and I recall how grand the fairytale seemed. And, I remember our sweet flower girl dresses, that looked very much like the beautiful dresses pictured below. We also carried a similar basket with our rose petals.

Will you all watch the real wedding or movies?
Did you watch Prince Charles and Diana wed?

I don't know if I will watch the movies or not. I think I would much rather see the real thing... the true wedding. Just to see the fashion, mostly, of the Bride and her Attendants.... and the ladies in attendance (in the crowd), as well. I do love the way English women wear hats - they do it so proudly and stylishly!

Honeymoon for One - Hallmark Channel Movie

MOVIE REVIEW

Honeymoon for One

Network: Hallmark Channel

Original Air Date: August 13, 2011

CAST:

Nicollette Sheridan ... Eve Parker
Greg Wise ... Sean
Patrick Baladi ... Greg
Katie Bannon ... Kathleen

PLOT:

An ambitious advertising executive finds out her fiancé is cheating on her just days before their wedding. She calls things off, but decides to embark on their honeymoon to Ireland solo, where she meets a simple Irishman who shows her love doesn’t have to be complicated.

Movie Review:

This was a fairly predictable and fairly decent Romantic Comedy. Any fans of Nicollette Sheridan should enjoy it - as she is in nearly every scene!

As far as being decent - well, the only minor thing was the implication that she and her fiance are living with one another. Otherwise, there were no improper situations. Eve is on the phone in her bathroom and her boyfriend is on the phone in his bathroom, talking to one another- then they both, still on the phone, meet each other at the front door.

Eve discovers, before their wedding, that her fiance is cheating on her - so of course, the wedding is off and she eventually decides to go on their Honeymoon alone - where she meets a handsome Irishman. Instantly they are attracted to one another and become attached, yet, she will be going home and he is a single father, not sure of opening himself up to relationships and busy trying to protect their homeland of redevelopment projects that would ruin the local inn, other businesses, and the nature around them.

It is a Hallmark Movie, after all... so of course there is a predictable happy ending - they fall in love and the land is saved! Very sappy, but sweet... a happy love story!

Double Wedding Lifetime Movie Network

MOVIE REVIEW

Double Wedding

Network: Lifetime Movie Network

Original Air Date: June 20, 2010

CAST:

Tia Mowry ... Deanna Warren
Tamera Mowry ... Danielle Warren
O.T. Fagbenle
Chad Connell ... Jasper Cooper
Tonya Lee Williams
Laura DeCarteret ... Elle Greenfield
Richard Leacock ... Jim
Robin Brûlé
Joe Vercillo ... Guy #1

PLOT:

Tia and Tamera Mowry star as twins Deanna and Danielle Warren, who, even though they may look alike, are anything but identical. When the two sisters plan their grandparents' re-commitment wedding, they start a little sibling rivalry to see who can settle down first and find the perfect boyfriend to bring to the blessed event. Soon enough, they unintentionally begin dating the same man, who believes they are one and the same person. Will true love win in this case of double trouble?

Movie Review:

Hmmmm..... this Movie was Interesting, Intriging, and Funny!

The Sisters were great to watch - especially in their scenes together.

I found it to be especially funny when they both decided to get "dates" for their Grandparents' Wedding... and they exclaimed to each other... "Game ON!" That was cute.

Objectionable content for family viewing: Language! There was some minor uses of unnecessary profanity. It was seldom, but not acceptable for young viewers. Also, the grandmother makes a comment that they can't have a three way (this is when she learns the girls are dating the same guy!) ... and the girls say - Grandma! - in a shocked tone - that emplies, that of course, that would never be acceptable. One off the girls tells the new guy she is dating that she wishes to take their relationship slow and states that she hasn't done this in the past - which led her to heartbreak. He is reluctant, but complies.

All in all, it was one of those cheesy Happy Ending Romantic Comedy Movies. There was a Double Wedding, of course, at the end with both Sisters... but I won't tell who ended up with who!

My Fake Fiance

MOVIE REVIEW

My Fake Fiance:

ABCfamily Movie starring Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence

CAST:

Melissa Joan Hart ... Jennifer
Joseph Lawrence ... Vince
Burgess Jenkins ... Steve
Jason MacDonald ... David
Nicole Tubiola ... Courtney
Steve Schirripa ... The Monkey
Rhoda Griffis ... Val
Mike Pniewski ... Al
Patricia French ... Catherine
Robert Pralgo ... Ben
Elizabeth Keener ... Carmen

PLOT:

from ABCfamily-

Oil and water get along better than Jennifer (Melissa Joan Hart) and Vince (Joey Lawrence), who meet at a friend’s wedding. But when they see the haul of presents and cash their friends receive, the cash strapped duo resolve to join forces and come up with a plan. They decide to fake a relationship, engagement and wedding - and stay together long enough to make it look authentic. But real feelings get in the way when these two actually start to fall for each other.

Movie Review:
Okay... Wow! How to describe this one? It's hard to resist it - even though the main characters are completely misguided in their decisions. As described above, they meet at a mutual's friends wedding, clash, and yet decide to pretend they are in love and getting married. Why?, you may ask... well, just to get all the wonderful gifts, of course!
So, the couple... Jennifer (Melissa Joan Hart) and Vince (Joseph Lawrence) are living a complete lie and deceiving all of their friends and family. This adds a lot of stress on both of their lives and guilt - yet, they keep it up throughout the movie... partially I believe, because they are falling in love with one another and wish it were real.
It's not a movie for young viewers, due to all the lying and deception, which is always wrong. Jennifer's best guy friend is stereotypically gay and helps her shop for her bride gown. And, there is a scene where Jennifer and Vince are kissing in her bed, but before things move on, Jennifer's niece interrupts.
There's a mix of good and bad in this one. In the end, the truth sets them free and love is triumphant!
I imagine this movie will be extra appealing to fans of Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence. I know I was glad to see them both, especially Joey, who I've been a fan of all the way back to Gimme a Break. They were quirky and witty and it was just extremely fun to watch their characters spar back and forth! It's a terrific Romantic Comedy that had me laughing throughout.

Come Dance at my Wedding

MOVIE REVIEW

Come Dance at my Wedding:

A Hallmark Channel movie, starring John Schneider (“Smallville”), Brooke Nevin (“The 4400”) and Roma Downey (“Touched By An Angel”).

CAST:

John Schneider ... Tanner Grey
Brooke Nevin ... Cyd Scarborough
Roma Downey ... Laura Williams
Christopher Jacot ... Zach Callahan

PLOT:

from Hallmark Channel:

“Come Dance at my Wedding,” an original movie about a young bride-to-be who is shocked when the father she never knew shows up alive and holding the deed to her family’s dance studio. It is the first of many surprises for Cyd who will soon learn other surprises about her father, including their shared love of dancing.

Cyd Scarborough (Nevin), a dance teacher in her hometown of Elksville, is busy teaching her classes at the Scarborough Dance Studio and finalizing details for her approaching wedding to the love of her life, accountant Zach. Her best friend, Jessie, is helping her stay organized, but Cyd dearly misses her deceased mother. To further muddle her thoughts, a real estate developer has offered to purchase the studio that has been in the family for several generations. If she sells, Cyd would have a chance to pursue her dream of becoming a therapist.

When she learns the shocking news that Tanner Grey (Schneider) – her father that she never knew – is alive and owns the family dance studio, she just wants to take care of business and get the studio sold quickly. She turns to her attorney, Laura Williams (Downey), for help, but as it turns out, Tanner isn’t in a hurry to hand over the deed or leave Elksville.

Movie Review:

From the moment I saw this advertised on the Hallmark Channel, I knew I would love it and I did! It was perfectly delightful from the first dance step!

The movie is based around a Dance Studio, which was left to (as mentioned above) a young bride-to-be who is shocked when the father she never knew shows up alive and holding the deed to her family’s dance studio. The bride-to-be is Cyd, played by Brooke Nevin and her father is Tanner Grey, portrayed by John Schneider.

I must say... that John Schneider (Bo Duke) is still just as handsome as ever and he was so suave on the dance floor. My favorite scenes were in the dance studio. I especially loved this scene where an older couple taking lessons... danced on their anniversary. It was beautiful and a very special and a wonderful addition to this sentimental movie.

It was interesting to see Cyd bond with her father in the dance studio and at home. He is over-protective and caring, determined to keep the dance studio going - while Cyd is unsure and on the verge of walking down the aisle, while very confused about her future. Will she keep the dance studio? Will her father, Tanner, leave town?

Here's a hint: there's a happy-ending!

If you love wedding movies like Father of the Bride, Wedding Daze, Bridal Fever, etc... then you should love this one, too! It swept me off my feet!!!

A Very Merry Daughter of the Bride

MOVIE REVIEW

A Very Merry Daughter of the Bride:
Lifetime Channel Movie for Christmastime.

CAST:

Lorette Clow ... Liz Sandor
Joanna Garcia ... Roxanne
Christy Greene ... Jessica
James D. Hopkin ... Martin Sandor
Chantal Perron ... Tish
Luke Perry ... Charlie
Helen Shaver ... Rose
Myrna Vallance ... Angry Bride
Kenneth Welsh ... Jack

PLOT:

from Lifetime-

A twenty-something wedding planner disapproves of her mothers whirlwind romance. Unable to stop her mothers wedding, she decides to take control of it. There are disasters as plans go awry and moments of heartfelt emotion, as the daughter learns that letting go works both ways.

Movie Review: (May Contain Spoilers)

This movie was a bit off the wall. The Mother (Rose) went to Paris and came back with a completely different attitude and a fiance who she was madly in love with, in spite of the two barely knowing one another.

The daughter (Roxanne) has an old relationship with the boy next door (Dillion) who has returned and wants to get back together. He never explains why he left years ago when they were engaged - yet, he wants a second chance. Please! And... by the way... who dressed this guy? He wore the strangest tight sweater cardigans with mallard ducks on them and stocking knit hats.

The Mother and her Fiance are over the top - kissing in almost every scene they are in. It was too much to take.

Roxanne is disturbed about this new man replacing her father and her Mother moving away and leaving her to run their Bridal Shop. Later in the movie... the Mother reveals that her father wasn't a good husband and had cheated on her many times. Well, her father had passed away years ago in a car accident - so he's not here to defend himself and suddenly the daughter is calling her Mother's new fiance - Dad.

Luke Perry's character was interesting.. He didn't want his father to marry Rose and he did almost anything and everything to stop it, yet... he was at the wedding celebrating. Didn't understand that. And Jason Priestley (his 90210 buddy) had a small part at the beginning of the movie - playing a groom making out with another girl in a closet on the day of his wedding.

Definitely an odd movie.

I say Skip this one.

Before you Say I Do

Before you Say I Do

Movie Review:
I wasn’t sure about this one when I saw the promo of.. The guy going back in time to “get the the Girl” but I couldn’t help myself from instantly liking it. Maybe it was the characters or their witty conversations! I was laughing so hard… especially at how different life was in 1999 when George Murray went back in time to try to capture the woman who he knew was the love of his life, Jane.

There are a few cautions with this one, however. Jane’s friend, Mary, although misguided and laughable in her future predictions, often says things about being psychic. This didn’t bother me much due to the fact that she was very wrong in her ideas. Also, there are no sexual situations but an unmarried couple does fall asleep next to one another twice. There is a mention, however, that Jane’s first husband had a fling with the wedding planner.

Children will probably not be entertained with this one… and I don’t recommend this one for them. However, if you ever loved Back to the Future, Bridal Fever, or Father of the Bride… then this is the kind of movie you should easily love!

The best part of the movie is when George Murray and Mary are trying to catch Jane’s first husband in the act of cheating… but he overhears them and does not follow through with the fling as planned and George is perplexed as to why things didn’t replay now as they had in the past and Mary simply says – “Maybe he’s from farther in the future than you.” This line is so hilarious – I was laughing out loud so hard! The casting was great – the writing was superb! I loved it! Hopefully, you will, too!

See or Skip: See! It's a perfectly sweet Romantic Comedy!

Favorite Wedding DVD's

I wanted to share my favorite Wedding DVD's that are currently featured on my web-site...

Father of the Bride

Wedding Daze

The Waltons Season 5 (featuring Mary Ellen's Wedding)

I love all of these Wedding Shows. First of all, Steve Martin portrays the best Father of the Bride... who wants to protect his daughter and his wallet! He is protective, caring, emotional, funny, and so sweet! I fall in love with this movie every time I see it. I even heard that First Lady Mrs. Bush gave this dvd to President Bush to watch before their daughter, Jenna's wedding.

Wedding Daze carries on in the same sort of tradition of Father of the Bride. John Larroquette plays the father this time around, but instead of just wanting to protect one daughter and his wallet.... he has to worry about 3 of his daughters... all getting married, at the same time, on the same Day!!! It's just as sweet, innocent, decent, and fun as Father of the Bride.

The Waltons Seasons 5 features the wedding of Mary Ellen. The older Walton Children are all certainly growing up and life on the Mountain is changing as we enter into Season 5. Mary Ellen, at first finds herself engaged to David Spencer, but very much attracted to the new Doctor, Curt Willard. Who will she ultimately choose? It's a love triangle of great Chemistry, Mystery, and Intrigue... and just as warm and wonderful as each episode of The Waltons is!

If you love The Waltons, then please stop by and visit my web-site, A walk with Grandpa Walton... and the Walton Family.

Do you love these Wedding DVDs / shows or do you have other Wedding Movies, you also enjoy?
